Nissan is introducing an all-new vehicle: the 2022 Nissan ARIYA. This all-electric crossover should arrive to Lokey Nissan at some point in 2021. As more drivers in our area shift to electric, options like the new ARIYA will push that trend even faster and further. Consider that Nissan promises the option for more than 300 miles on just one charge. That is quite a bit more than the current all-electric options on the market and should demand consumer attention. Like the Leaf, the ARIYA also has been designed as its own vehicle rather than being an EV adapted from a standard model. It will offer its own range of trim levels and boast an impressive range of standard and optional features, including many driver assists.
The ARIYA has a completely new design, but if you have been paying attention to the recent redesigns available at our Nissan dealership serving Clearwater Tampa Wesley Chapel Florida, you will notice some consistent elements that the automaker is focusing on for this next generation. Nissan will also be introducing a new logo, which will premiere with the ARIYA. As for the form factor, Nissan has announced most specifications: a 109.3-inch wheelbase, a 182.9-inch overall length, a 65.4-inch height and a 65.7-inch width. The minimum ground clearance was not yet available as of this writing.
The 2022 Nissan ARIYA to be available at Lokey Nissan will be a small crossover with seating for up to five. Headroom and legroom have not yet been published, but we know these are areas of emphasis for Nissan and that the ARIYA has a longer wheelbase than the Rogue—by about 3 inches. Based on that, we can estimate front legroom at 42 inches and rear legroom at 40 inches. We can also estimate 36 cubic feet of dedicated storage space and at least twice that area with the back seat folded down. The ARIYA dashboard with feature driver-oriented dual 12.3-inch touch-displays in a side-by-side layout.
The biggest piece of mechanical information we have available is that Nissan will offer the ARIYA as both front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive will be standard, but it is not clear if that will be across all trim levels. The all-wheel-drive system—e-4ORCE—is a completely new on-demand dual-motor technology that has been designed for Nissan’s electrical vehicles moving forward.
Nissan asserting 300 miles on a single charge has generated a great deal of buzz and prompted many questions that motivated this 2022 Nissan ARIYA review. What we know is that there will be two EV setups available. The optional and more powerful of the two will allow for the 300-mile range and make up to 389 horsepower and 443 pound-feet. The standard setup will make at least 215 hp and 221 lb.-ft., but it is not yet known by us what the estimated range is.
Our location serving Clearwater Tampa Wesley Chapel Florida knows how important safety is, and Nissan fully intends the ARIYA to be selected as an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and earn an NHTSA five-star rating. Dual 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreens with all the bells and whistles will be standard. Nissan Safety Shield 360 will also be standard. This is Nissan’s suite of driver assistance technologies and includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and so forth. The ARIYA will also have Nissan PilotPro 2.0 standard, and this tech interoperates with the driver assists to provide semiautonomous driving.
