It seems strange to write that the LEAF® nameplate has been around for more than 10 years now, but what is not odd is that during that decade Nissan has continued to refine the LEAF® into a vehicle that not only gives consumers confidence but delivers them an exceptional value proposition. S Trim
The S is the first of the 2022 Nissan LEAF® trim levels. It features a 40-kWh battery pack that powers a 110-kW electric motor that makes a 147 horsepower. A single-speed transmission sends that power to the front wheels. Regenerative braking allows for one-pedal driving. This vehicle can be charged via either a 120-volt or 240-volt connection, and the range is 149 miles. The standard driver-assistance suite includes automatic headlamp and high-beam control, cruise control, intelligent forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent lane intervention, intelligent blind-spot intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, a rearview monitor, rear parking sensors and rear automatic braking. Cabin features include automatic climate control, a 12-volt power outlet, power accessories and an 8-inch touchscreen.
SV Trim
The SV is the second of the available 2022 Nissan LEAF® trim levels. It opens up a number of options that become standard with the top trim. It expands the driver-assistance suite with a more advanced cruise control system that can automatically adapt to traffic conditions. It upgrades the wheels to 17-inch alloy and adds fog lamps and heated side mirrors. Cabin enhancements include heated front seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The infotainment system is upgraded with a door-to-door navigation system, NissanConnect, satellite radio and a sound system with six speakers as opposed to four.
SL Trim
Nissan offers a LEAF® Plus package in addition to the standard configuration. You can, for instance, opt for either the S Plus or the SV Plus as opposed to the standard S and SV trim levels. The SL is the top trim and includes the Plus package as standard equipment. That package adds a more powerful motor that makes 214 horsepower and a 62-kWh battery that increases range up to 226 miles. The SL model features an electronic parking brake in addition to ProPILOT Assist, which allows for a semi-autonomous driving mode. It also adds an around-view monitor and an intelligent driver alertness system. The exterior is upgraded with a front bumper chin spoiler, LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps and outside mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The cabin is enhanced with leather seating, a power driver seat, a HomeLink transceiver and a removable cargo cover.
