The 2023 Nissan Rogue is now available at Lokey Nissan, which is the leading Nissan dealer in Clearwater Florida. The Rogue is among the most popular compact crossovers in this region and throughout the U.S. because it delivers what is arguably the best value proposition in the class, and Nissan looks to continue that success by making the package even more compelling for the 2023 model year. You have four trim levels to choose from—S, SV, SL and Platinum—and in this Clearwater review of the new Rogue, we’ll cover those trim levels along with the optional packages through which you can customize them.
Starting MSRP: $27,360
The 2023 Nissan Rogue is a small four-door crossover SUV with a rear liftgate. The wheelbase is 106.5 inches. The ground clearance impresses at 8.2 inches, and the length is 183.0 inches—or 15.25 feet. The base package includes LED headlamps and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The SV has 18-inch wheels. Roof rails and a power liftgate are optional with the SV and standard with the SL, which adds 19-inch wheels, LED fog lamps and hands-free operation for the liftgate. Front and rear parking sensors are optional with the SL and included with the Platinum.
What’s important to emphasize in this 2023 Nissan Rogue review is that while the Rogue is a small five-passenger crossover, it has a cabin that is surprisingly spacious. The total passenger volume is 105.4 cubic feet. Headroom is 41.1 inches in the first row and 43.3 in the second. Front legroom is 41.5 inches, and second-row legroom is 38.5 inches. The dedicated cargo area is impressive for the class at 36.5 cubic feet, and as much as 74.1 cubes are available with the rear seating folded. The base package includes dual USB ports, an 8-inch infotainment touch screen and a four-speaker audio system with satellite radio. The SV upgrades the standard air conditioning to dual-zone automatic climate control and adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat, two additional speakers, two rear USB ports and Wi-Fi hotspot. The SL adds leather upholstery, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat and dual-pane cargo floor. The Platinum adds upgraded leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, heated rear seats, a larger touch screen, integrated navigation and a premium 10-spealer Bose audio system.
Keyless entry, push-button ignition and remote engine start are all standard equipment starting with the SV trim level, which is why many consumers considering the base model will often move up a level. Another reason we presented this Clearwater review of the Rogue is that we’re often asked if all-wheel drive is available, and the answer is yes. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you have the option of all-wheel drive with all trim levels starting with the base model.
It’s also important to note in this 2023 Nissan Rogue review that all Rogue models have the same engine under the hood: a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder that makes 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. That engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission, and that same CVT is standard whether you opt for front- or all-wheel drive.
The base infotainment package includes an 8-inch touch screen with Android and Apple device integration. Nissan Safety Shield is also standard, and it adds a rearview monitor, a forward collision mitigation system, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and Rear automatic braking. Another reason many customers opt for the SV over the base model is that it adds adaptive cruise control and lane departure mitigation. The SL adds a 360-degree camera system. Infotainment voice control, front and rear parking sensors and navigation-linked adaptive cruise control are optional with the SL and standard with the Platinum.
